Simple Chili Oil

Ingredients
8 oz avocado oil
40 g crushed red pepper flakes
½ tsp Chinese five spice
3 star anise
finish off with sesame oil
OPTIONAL:
peanuts, pumpkin or sunflower seeds, garlic
top off with green onions, sesame seeds
Instructions
Heat avocado oil in a saucepan to about 420°F (215°C).
In a heatproof jar, combine red pepper flakes, five spice, and star anise (optional: add peanuts or garlic).
Slowly pour the hot oil over the mixture, stirring gently to ensure all flakes are cooked evenly.
Cool, then store in a sealed jar.
